I finally got the mini apes installed saturday, took a little while about
six hours total, but well worth it. saved $400.00 in labor from dealer.
thanks to all the members here that gave me help and tips, it was well appreciated. things went pretty smooth. what little riding I got to do, I am going to love these. I also added the airleon grips, I like them too. I can roll the throttle with my fingers now with that chrome bar on the front of them.

Did the stock wires, clutch cable, and front brake line reach?

had to replace the clutch and throttle/idle cables. the brake line was allright
2008 fxdc has the flexible hose type all the way. the wires were long enough,
just have to remove the frame covers where wires are, there is one cover
under the tank that helps to get your hands on wires to push them forward
so you are not pulling apart any wire connectors. I unbolted the tank and lifted
and blocked it up as high as I could, without removing it. this helps to remove the cover underneath and run your new throttle/idle cables. there are two
cable holders under there to hold cables tight to frame. I was able too
salvage them, but if you can buy new it would be easier, they are a special
type, that clips to frame.
hope this helps
