2006 Superglide gray engine and primary
I have an 06 superglide wich I like with the exception of the gray engine and primary. Anybody ever try painting them black with a high temp paint? If so how did it come out? And please don't repsond with You should've bought a street bob. Not trying to sound like a jerk, but I wanted the superglde so thats what i bought.

I picked up a chrome one off e-bay for 60.00. You could probally find a black one reasonable. Or I could sell you mine and then you could have it done then change them out without any down time.

Chrome looks good with the silver motor. I like the silver but the primary side was just to much. I added the Chrome Primary cover and it looks much better but also going to add the Chrome Headbolt bridges and Cylinder base cover to finish it up.

I painted mine...finished it up about a week ago...looks like the low rider engine now...used 1200 vht paint... I may do a texture black later when the temp and humidity drop...

I think JayFromPa has black covers on a SG. I think I'd go ahead and get them powder coated if I were going to the trouble of taking off the covers (or watch e-bay for some take-offs like Smiley mentioned).
