yep thats exactly what i was thinking about for my bob, great minds huh...lol i think i would leave the upper exhaust chrome on mine though
or harley sells a flame and chrome upper heat shield for the dyna i'd like to see what it would look like to just paint the flame portion of the uppers black, then the exaust would break up color wise as black flamed uppers with a chrome end leading into the black heatshields and on to the chrome tips
black ,chrome, black chrome...
i think it would be tight as hell
freebyrd
I have some chrome upper heatshields but I like total blacked out look better. Kinda looks like I may strafe anyone who gets too close to my tail. LOL! I was going to dril the uppers but after a test fit I thought "nah!" It would have made it look too busy. Here's another day pic. Sorry for all the pics but I'm just so pleased wit how they turned out.

Did you paint the the other parts of the pipes black? IF so what did you use? I am thinking about Painting the heat sheilds on my fat bob black and was wondering what would be the best product.
Everything you see is powder coated now. It was initially painted with VHT Ceramic paint. It's good to about 2,000 F. VHT paint is the best I've found. You can get it at NAPA. A little expensive but worth it.
