I think the Harley paint sets are very nice, especially Jakes, but there are still duplicates running around even if it's just 75 for the most expensive series. I know the chances are slim that you will actually run into another set, but if I am going to drop between 2-4k on a paint set I want it to be one off. With that kind of money you can find a custom painter who will do an incredible job for whatever it is you may want painted on your bike and yours will be the only one.

I fully understand where you're coming from. I agree that for that amount of $, you want your bike to be outstanding and not see another like it. I think with only 75 made, it'll be highly unlikely that I find another like mine, and with all the mods I did, there won't be another exactly like it. The paint they did on this is an incredible job and I can't believe that HD put it out.
$2500? Try $4200 for this set. They only made 75 units like mine and the detail is phenomenal. (sp?)
Holy cow thats a lot of dough! I might spend that on a show bike that doesnt get ridden much, if I had the money but I tend to get boo boos from rocks and other crap on the fwy and I would be pretty upset to mess up a paint job as nice as that. I am looking at the California Kid paint job though that seems a pretty good deal to me for $1600. Any one here done the sheetmetal exchange thing?
Jake's bike has one of the SICKEST paint jobs that I've seen anyone post in this section.
But its not one that I would like to own! Someone might get SHOOT just getting to close to something like that if it was mine!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get the impression that the comment about the flame job being a decal was directed at your bike. The "edge flames" (HD 95731-07CMB $1,900) almost look like they could be .... That said, pretty much all of the genuine MoCo parts and accessories I've gotten have been the highest quality; however, you're going to pay top dollar for it.
I've observed there are a couple of prevalent attitudes among HDForum/Harley riders-- (i) those who don't want to 'dilute' their Harley purity by using aftermarket (non-Harley) parts or at least try to minimize them and(ii) those who are trying to get the most bang for the buck/best value and will first try to DIY then an indy shop and H-D dealer only as a last resort.
I do like the "California kid" (HD 94282 $1,650) but haven't actually seen them in person.
I'd be interested in seeing photos if anyone has them.

BTW Jake, you bike is bad a$$!!
I was really trying to let those who are afraid to go with a HD paint set know that they are of high quality. I've seen others from the factory that look every bit of custom as some one offs I've seen.
I'm also not afraid to use HD products. I've never had a problem with their quality and they actually have some nice looking parts.
Thanks for the compliment about my bike Priest. I was fortunate, I had a good canvas to work with...an expensive canvas, but a good one.
These guys do some really nice work, but I don't know what their prices are like:
You have a great paint job JakeInIraq, but I like the less busy factory flame set. To each his own. I can't decide if between the orange and red factory flames. Here is Starboard's Low Rider in the thumbnail. This is the flame set that I like. Mine is below it. Mine bike is actually a 2006 Streetbob.
