I agree with "Yellowhawks" explanation. I've never heard my Streetbob called a Dyna Glide. It's a Dyna class bike but not one of the glides.
I've run into the same thing. When I tell them that it's a Super Glide Custom, they nod and act like they understand. Some do, some don't. Of course if you really want to throw them for a loop, just tell 'em that it's a Sportster on steroids.
