Hey guys update,
Well, I negotiated for $16600 out of the store and adding $2500 worth accessories installed. Labor is just ridiculous but this is the first and the last time I will pay them to do it, so figured screw it.
Any way, My bike is Black and Orange low rider with 21 miles in it, will pick it up on Thursday...

Default What exhaust to install?

Hey guys,
One more help needed, What sort of exhaust do you guys recommend? I want something that is pretty loud if not the loudest. Also, what does it cost?

That's a whole new can of worms.

As for the pricing, too late, but I'd make the dealer eat the setup. I've never paid it and never will. Also sounds like a lot for DMV fees but I don't know the regs in your state.

As for the exhaust, it totally depends on the look you want, the sound you want, and how much you are willing to spend. Nobody can tell you what the loudest is. At least I've never heard a definitive answer to that. But, it sounds like you are after a full exhaust and not just new mufflers. If you just change the mufflers, you can get it significantly louder and get out for as little as a couple hundred bucks. A full exhaust will cost more than that and you'd most likely be looking at needing to also upgrade the air cleaner and possibly some sort of fuel management/enhancement (otherwise known as a stage 1 upgrade).

I think all we can tell you is what we have and how much we paid. I have Vance & Hines Big Radius 2-2's full exhaust. I paid between 5 and 6 hundred for them and that doesn't include the $105 air cleaner and $200 fuelpak I already had when I got the exhaust. It's pretty loud but not too loud until I really twist the throttle - just how I want it.

If you are a newbie, use this site to educate yourself. You will save money by finding better prices and realizing there is a lot you can do yourself and not have to buy from or get labor by the dealer.

well you paid 2500 less for the 08 than an identical 09 would be ... that sounds good to me... don't worry about what others think of your deal I think regions vary greatly in these regards... FWIW here in my neck of the woods a few dealers have some 07 stock(wide glides) that they are letting go for 2k less than new so 2500 for a bike that was, until a month ago, not a leftover is not bad...

Congrats on your bike! The black and orange FXDL is a beautiful bike. Post some pics of it when you get a chance.
As for exhaust, do some looking around at the pics on this forum and see what you think looks good on bikes like yours. Vance and Hines pipes seem to be the most popular, but there are a lot of options out there.

Default 2008 Harley pricing

Ok...I got here. I bought a 2008 Anniversary (Duracell) Lowrider in March and pulled my paperwork. Keep in mind the Anniversary bikes were about $1075.00 above the Suggested retail but here's the "out the door price". Bike: $16,415.00 Accessories: Bike Cover, and a couple little things. $174.40. Tax (7% here in Ohio) $1,171.76 Title filing, license , and document fees: $175.50. REAL out the door price = $17,936.66. But keep in mind that you can deduct around $1150.00 off my listed out the door price for a NORMAL low-rider. And as another poster mentioned...they aren't typically going to budge below MSRP. I haven't gotten dealers to budge off MSRP since 1985 when I bought a XLH Ironhead Sportster. Good Luck...You'll enjoy the Low Rider.
