i have had alot of issues with Power comanders on rockets that i work with... many make the bike stall out... takes a bit but you can tune them in just like any tuner
I have the same bike and when its running problems got worse real fast I took it to the dealer and they found a bad spark plug. Apparently the dealers are seeing a lot of this on certain models. It's worth a try to change them out - quick and cheap.
OK so i did some investigating last night and the plugs are in decent shape (no sign of fouling), ground cable is nice and tight, injector wires look fine and nothing is un-plugged. I used Joe's instructions for diagnostics (pretty freakin cool if i must say so) and i did find a fault.
Under the SP (speedometer) it came up as b1007 which is an ignition line overvoltage instruments error code. I guess it does make a little sense since the speedo was going al ittle nuts when it would misfire and that over voltage could have knocked out my ignition.
Any one know what specifically could cause this and how to fix it? At least if i have to take it to a dealer its still under warranty and i can tell them what the error code is.
I'd check the ecm connector where the pigtail from the pc3 connects, especially if you didn't use dielectric grease when you installed. A little water in that connector will cause you misery like you described.
I checked the connector last night. I didn't pull it out (though i could) It was tight and yes I did use dielectric grease on it when it was installed, especially after hearing horror stories from people on here.
Could the ECM connector cause an ignition overvoltage situation???
In cars some instrument panels have a voltage regulator in the back of them that run the instruments at 7-8 volts, so that under cranking load your instruments don't dip with the voltage drop when the starter is engaged.
