It's been awhile since I've made a post.
I have an 05 super sport. I ride it around town with no windshield. I do get out on the highway alot and I've been getting my butt kicked. Don't get me wrong I still have fun but I don't think my face was made to stay frozen that way for long, not to mention the big *** Alabama bugs. I think I actually chipped a tooth. A frozen face and a chipped tooth now that's funny.
What I'm looking for is a quick release windshield that won't cost me my throttle hand and my shifting foot and still look good.
Any suggestions?
Got my quick release when I bought fatbob. Around $300.00 so your throttle hand might take a little time to heal. They don't release any smoother then this. Best part is no hardware is left on the bike!
I have the HD quick disconnect and it is super easy to put on / take off. However it was too tall for me and I am 6'1". I cut it down 2 inches and filed it smooth and now the height is perfect. One other bad thing about it is the windshield sticks out in front of the headlight and the glare was terrible at night. I had to put an extended trim ring on the headlight to solve that problem. Also, I don't like the looks of the HD QD that I have. It stands up too tall. The HD windshield is thin and scratches very easy. I am looking to buy one of the Windvest windshields. A friend of mine has one, it looks great and he loves it. Do your homework and search this site for opinions before buying one. You will find tons of threads on this subject. Good Luck.
