I liked the '06 Dyna line because of the closed loop map system. I didn't think bike would need to be remapped after just changing pipes. I thought thats what the O2 sensors were for. I thought I studied, but I guess I don't know s**t.

I bought the new 06 Wide Glide, though I'll mostly carry grandkids. The warranty looked better than saving a couple of grand. The 6 speed, easy clutch, easy EFI start, and the comfort are fantastic. I knew what I wanted, so didn't ride anything before going Harley after all these years, but sounds like you should try several before you buy.

Wife made the final choice......

But We opted for an "Older" bike.
It was already broke in and modified @ 13.5 k..... and the previous owner treated Her like a Diva !
A new Scoot would had me near 16-18 Grand, and has been said left precious little $ leftover to Modify.

The Bike runs strong, looks like Showroom "06's"... Clean and Scratch/Dent Free..... Always dry, not a drop of oil lost..... And a list of aftermarket's I woulda choked on had I purchased them !
Harley Wind Sheild
Boss Bags
Mustang Seat
Hooker Pipes
K&N Breather
Custom Paint
Too Many Chrome pieces to list... Fork Covers, Calipers and Rotors x3, obligatory Battery Box, Motor-mount, Horn, Starter, ect...ect..
Custom Pegs, Linkage, Shifter, Crash-Bars, Mirrors... It goes on.....
( Previous Owner provided reciepts for over $ 8,000.00 in Mods Done between 04 and 05. )

All that had me not feeling too bad about No Warranty, or the "Age" of my "98".
Fact is all I read says the 1340 EVO's of that time were Strong running SOB's, and I should get near, or over, 100,000 Miles outta it if maintained properly.
(Im not sweating Resale, tho the bank tells me Im good at this time, and wouldnt I like to trade up...Lol.... )

I like the Carb .
New Dynas are nice... but still a little "New" design wise for my taste.

The Bike Runs Great and 2-Up is not a problem with me and the wife, combined weight less than 350 lbs.
If I had one gripe.....
The Progressive 440's are nice 2-Up, but Solo even on the softest setting they still are pretty stiff to me.

Any Dyna YOU like...... is the Best !
