Default exhaust question

Hello, just joined the new members section and allready have a question was hoping maybe you guys could give me some insight on.
I bought a 06 streetbob and it came with screamin eagle ii pipes part number 80349-00ar. The guy completely removed the baffles on these pipes, don't dig it too much. I called hd and asked them if I could get replacement baffles to put in there and the guy said they were tack weleded in so you can't, they are destroyed, and I would have to buy new slips ons. He quoted me part number 80448-3 for like 220.00 which was the screamin eagle he said. I did a web search and saw on hd website they called out 80418-06 for screamin eagle slip ons at 299.

I also found a website that sells just replacement baffles(chopper cycles), so I'm totally confused at all the different part numbers, and what replacement would fit my bike and also, can I get just replacement baffles without welding them?
No baffle at all is like open header on my 71 camaro, don't really want that, I'd like to go just a little beefier than stock but not a lot of noise so I hear screamin eagles are probably the route I want to go.
Any advice or help here with this.
Thanks for any info you might have,
Russ

Don't know what to tell you. Try to find someone buying new pipes to sell you their used slip-ons cheap. Rush slip-ons with 2.25 baffles are best!

Oh, wait...I'm getting new pipes!

Oh wait... I have Rush 2.25 baffle slip-ons!

The SE ll slip-ons are the old ones HD used to sell a couple years ago. They are not 50 state legal and HD no longer sells them.

The new SE slip-ons are 50 state legal and are not very loud.

and Welcome to the forum

welcome to the forum. there are after market baffles if you search for them. you should know the exact inside diameter of your pipes. if you bought baffles that are installed with a screw (like my Vance & Hines) you could easily drill a hole in the slip ons. alternatively if you have to spring for new slip ons i suggest going aftermarket, not HD. HD markets its products to the masses and not necessarily for performance.

good luck with it .
