yeah you have a point, I do wish mine had the all black motor, specialy since it is supposed to be a dark custom... Maybe I will get lucky and harley will sell some black sideplates for it at a resonable cost, hahaha, well sell some anyway.... But I like the tail light and the bobed fender
What the hell, it sucks the motor is not all black, but the color of the motor is not a sole deciding point on a bike is it? I mean did you forget about the important stuff like the size of the engine and the overall bike, the comfort, the reliability, the fit of you and the bike, I mean I like the all black motors a lot don't get me wrong but it seems like a silly reason not to get a bike.
p.s. I think my 09 looks damn good and I havent even began to really customize it.
Please don't take this question personally... I have nothing against the new 09 It is just a very different bike from previous years...While I understand the published reason for changing, I actually believe a second reason also is that they departed with the overly popular black engine to keep those with plenty to spend in a higher price bracket of bike...In the end any person that would have bought another more expensive bike other than the streetbob is money the MOCO lost...
not a conspiracy just business sense.
I probably would have forked out the extra dough for a night train. Part of the appeal of the street bob was that to me has the same blacked out look and looks just as cool for a few thousand less.
I felt the same exact way when i was making my decision. Love my Street Bob, but the Night Train is also a great bike.
I love the dynas, I probably would have went with a lowrider. Softails look cool, but everything else about the dynas are more apealing to my riding style! As far as a bagger, I hardly ever do 2 or more day rides so I'd rather not have a couple suitcases mounted on my bike!
