Well, it's been a year since I got my '01 FXDWG and I managed to install all chrome parts like I dreamed about. She's way shiny now One last thing I need help on. I managed to find someone parting out their bike on ebay and got the stock passenger peg bracket to spare. I need to find a good chrome shop that will triple chrome it for me to match the rest of the shiny parts. Has anyone here had experience with chrome plating and know of a good shop to send it to? Thanks!

I am also looking to have some parts chromed. I bought an issue of American Iron and am contacting the chroming companies that did work on some on the bike builds that are written about in the mag. Usually there are two or three builds, so there are two or three companies listed as doing the chrome. It's someplace to start.

good luck with that.
I had a piece chromed last year.
most quotes were way high, especially from the shops that advertise or are mentioned in the mags. The guy I went with tried to change his price halfway through the process, and he did a lousy job.
I don't think the part mentioned by the poster can be purchased from HD in chrome, which is unfortunate. If you can get the part in chrome from the factory - that's the way to go. You'll find that the chrome shops charge as much to chrome a takeoff part.
Illinois Fat Bob... what are you looking to have done? i have a buddy that works for GM and he is in charge of all the little things like door handles and crap... he works with the small busn that do all the chroming... i had him do a few things for my brothers bike and the work was AMAZING! they do nto ahve the bath big enough to do rims and stuff but small things up to the size of a sporty tank i am told they can do... PM me and i will ask Dan about it for ya
The passenger peg brackets come in chrome (which I have) and black wrinkle ( my brother has) for our 2006 Dynas...I would think you can get factory chrome for yours.
Okay here's an update. I went to the HD dealer and they looked up a part for the FXDWG3 and it was "obsoleted" with a replacement part number of 52835-02 which was also "obsoleted". So then they found a dealer in CA with the part in stock, I call them and it was a mistake in the inventory. Back to the chrome shop idea. I got a spare part from ebay so if it got screwed up at the chrome shop at least I'd still have a good one in black. I got a few leads locally on chrome plating will let you guys know what happens. That's so weird that HD makes every part for this bike in chrome except this one... ugh.
