Mine does it too. I finally get to have the recall service done on Monday and so I'm going to have them take a look at it then.
But this is DEFINITELY a warranty issue and I'm sure they will fix it or replace it. You could probably fix it yourself and perhaps in the end, that is the only way to really fix it. But I would at least give the dealer an attempt at fixing it since they are obligated to do so. I would also avoid screwing with until you try the dealer as they *may* get stupid on you and not honor the warranty because it was tampered with or whatever.
Mine has rattled like crazy since the day I got it back in November. This will be its first trip back to the dealer since I did the 1k service myself. So I want to give them a shot to fix it before I mess with it.
I Too have had the annoying rattle of the headlight housing on my 06 Wide Glide. Same problem, it's the rivets that hold the housing to the brackets.
It's going back to the dealer next week to fix under warranty. I'll repost what they did about it. Definetly a common problem from what I've seen here. Thanks
for the post about this problem.
Well my 'stealer' told me Id have to drop it off. That being said someone totalled my wife's Suzuki Aerio (someone rear ended her) .So now my bike is everyday transportation since she has my ride , so dropping it off wasnt happening. So I spent a mere $2.19 on some stainless steel nuts an bolts , it seems more stout now than it did before. The end ....twsted
I have this prioblem on my 2007 Street Bob -- its going in for its 1000 mile service next week. Maybe I will call the dealer and ask them to order a new housing.
