Wide Glide not good for touring?

Wide glides make great long haul rides. Get a new seat, a back rest, detachable windshield, mid pegs, some detachable bags and you can ride cross country. Once you get to your destination, strip off all that comfort stuff (except seat) and you have your putt around town bike.

Fat bob, great for long haul
I've got a Fat Bob which is a lot like the Wide Glide and I have taken Long trips, i.e. Atlanta to Houston, Atlanta to Milwaukee, and it is great. I have riden for 14 hours in a day before and I thought it was great. I don't use a windshield but I am considering one for the winter.
