Nice scoot xkrome...what size are yours? Did you use stock cables/wires?
they are HD 10'' mini apes, $56. had to drill my own holes for internal wiring. straighten brake line and move line mount from bottom to top tree. move throttle cables to outside of tree's. and replace clutch cable with a used Wide Glide take off.
I've never used apes so sorry for the STUPID question ... but how are they, especially the tall ones, when blasting down the highway?? I do a lot of highway driving too and from work and like the look of apes but never considered them because it seems you'd catch a ton of wind at high speeds. Do you have to hold on for dear life from the wind blasts?
It's a motorcycle, you are in the wind, that's what it is all about, like the dog that sticks his head out the window.
Best thing to do is go rent one or borrow one and see for yourself, experience it for yourself.
The only reason I would ever have a windshield on a bike is that some of them bugs out there hurt like hell, I like the wind, especially at 70-80. Yes you have to hold on, but you better be holding on at 25 too.

I eaven like an ocational 70 MPH bug...but then i'm kind of a freak
I have 16's on my superglide. I have found that there is no more wind blast with those then there was with my stock bars. Handling is actually better as rider weight is more centered now. The limiting handling factor for me on a dyna is grounding the muffler screw and i do that just as easy with apes as i did with stock bars. Apes remove all pressure from your shoulders/back, but i have found that you had better have a good seat because now all your weight is dead center on your ***. Find someone who has them and try them out first. There is something about apes that people automatically think they are uncomfortable. Quite the opposite is true, but bars are probably the most personal choice a biker can make..

I have the stock 10" mini-apes on my 07 wide glide. I already catch an a$$ of wind on the interstate so to me, if I catch a little more it doesn't matter. If the USPS would make my delivery I'd have 16's...
i just put some mini apes on my bike 2 days ago .... took them off today and put on a bab boy bar with no riser...(basically the same as an 08 SE Dyna)
I just could not get myself to like the bike with the apes...
I like the arms lower. I feel like I have more control in corners.
I also think my bike looks much better with these lower bars than the apes or the bars in my sig.

This is why I would strongly suggest renting one before you make such a change. It is a big change and no fun to undo if you don't like them.
