Default Saddleman Profiler Tattoo Flame seat

I have a 2008 FXDL and am thinking of buying a new seat. I am OK with the stock seat but on long rides, it gets very HARD. I have short legs so this is a problem as I have installed forward controles. I have a touring seat but I have a problem with being able to plant my feet firmly on the ground when stopped.
I thought of a solo with a back rest becasue I do longer rides, 300 to 600 mile at a time but I have spent lots in the past for seats and found that they just arn't right for me.
Does anyone have any experience with this seat or give me some tips on what I might look for to be comfortable but sitll be able to touch the ground.

Good luck finding seat, I searching for the "one" now. Saddleman is a good looking seat but is it the seat causing the reach problem? You could try lowering the already low rider. What seat do you have now?

labou1........I've got an 07 Low Rider and have the same problem you have. Short legs and a sore butt on the longer rides. I had my low rider lowered 2" and just finally have both feet planted on the ground..... but longer rides are killing me with my stock seat.
I'm going to try a Harley Sundowner. My dealer will allow me to order one and sit on it before I purchase it. I dont want to give up being flat footed. My only other option is the Air Hawk motorcycle seat pad. The Air Hawk is the same system folks confined to wheelchairs use. I've read bikers comments that it was the best purchase they ever made and wont ride without one. It's suppose to only affect seating height by 1/2" once inflated to the proper setting. It's sure a lot cheaper than a Corbin, LePera or Mustang, which for short people could still pose problems due to the padding. If the Sundowner doesnt do the trick for me, I'm going to order one of those Air Hawk pads for my Dyna. BTW.........ebay has the lowest prices for the Air Hawk that I can find.

For what you may spend on a premium seat, you could look at some other mods which will make the whole bike fit you better.

You can get Progressive fork springs and lower the front 1" for about $100.00. A set of 11" Progressive 412s will lower the rear an 1" for about $200.00. Lastly, talk to Allen at Mean City Cycles about rebuilding your OEM seat. He may be able to move you forward in your riding position while adding gel inserts to increase your ride comfort.
