Anyone use this footpegs. How are they, are they sturdy. Are they just as good as doing the seperate heel rest? I been looking at buying them, but the harley dealers near me don't stock them so I can't look at them, just want to make sure they are good quality.
I think that they are good quality. The chrome finish is very good and they are sturdy. I think that they are better than the seperate heel rest due to the fact that you can close them when you want to do some hard cornering. I find them comfortable, I dont feel like I am struggling to keep my feet on the pegs. I am happy with them.
I love mine. Mid controls didn't suit me and forwards are close to where I want to be. With the switchblades I can move my feet around and always find a comfortable position.
I added them on my fatbob for my wife. She kicks them out on long trips to act as floorboards. I've been thinking of adding them up front for myself also. The quality isn't that bad in my opinion. I had an issue with one coming loose but loc-tight solved that.
I have them and really like them. Make sure you use blue loctite on ALL the bolts prior to installing so that nothing vibrates loose. I use them 90% of the time, except when I'm in stop and go traffic. I think permanent stirrups would get in the way, and it's really nice to fold them in. Eastern Performance has good prices on them and free shipping.
I love them, have them on my forwards. the flip em closed for the twisties is fantastic. as to loading up weight on em, I do not load up the heel rest, the front portion will takemy 290, but I would not weigh down on the heels, to much leverage will spin the angle.
I am running a flame theme and these guys look great closed or open.
