Needless to say, the new hyped 2008 "Tommy Gun" 2-1-2 collector exhaust w/ dual mufflers for the 2008 Dyna Fat Bob was a total bust for HD.
This piece of **** was a huge selling point for the moco. I could never understand why. Made me laugh.

Not even. We're not talking about a built motor with headwork, cams, and some radical intake here...

If you're gonna use a slip on , use the Rush 2.0, NOT the SE's

That's my advice, and it's pretty much 1st hand...I'm confident most will agree.
Still have my stock pipes on with 3000 miles.
No problems with heat shields being loose, and though I will change them out sooner or later....
They sound pretty good for stock pipes.
My leg gets a little hot at stops, but it's nothing I can't deal with.
There IS an air cooled V-Twin a few inches from my leg so I never ride in shorts...
I kind of expect it to be hot.
Hi CC,youre practically my neihbor!LOL I'm in montreal! Any how I found my FB much cooler after changeing the orig. air cleaner to an Arlen Ness big sucker. That giant teardrop air cleaner gets hot enoough to fry an egg on , and it's even closer to your leg! O and I agree totally with MUD,even if I had to settle on the rush 1.75's,mainly due to the neihborhood i live in,They are a quiet bunch around here!

Ok, I was back a$$wards. By switching from the stockers with SE slip ons I lost 0.24 foot pounds of torque and gained 4.35 hp. I have noticed a difference for sure.
Even when I had stock exhaust on the Fat Bob...............excessive heat was never a factor on my leg. Of course, I don't ride with shorts and flipp flops as some on this forum do!!
I'm really surprised to read that you didn't notice the high heat comming off the unprotected exhaust pipe so close to your leg? Not doubting you for a second but you must be wearing chaps or extra heaving jeans or an alternative? It does not make sense. The heat is so apparent when stopped at a light that you must lift your leg out and away from the open pipe.
Have you noticed the fading and discoloration from the burn of your pants from around the same location? Wait a second. Do you have forward controls? I can imaging the mid mount controls would have your leg in a more higher location away from the pipe. Is this the case?

Reason: spelling
get the brand new pipes...e-bay em and buy the pipes you want... sure someone out there would like those style of pipes especially if they are brand new for less money!
