07 wide glide stock tires. What pressure do you guys run? 6k on mine and both the front and rear are down to wear indicators only in the center of tread. TB
10,895 miles down to the wear bars on a Dunlop D427/70B/16, harley part #43228-08.
I would've rode it a little longer but wet-laeves-on-the-road weather is fast approching.
Mine stock rear blew out at 4,400 while doing 80 on I-55. Kinda scary, but just eased off the throttle and got her gently over to the shoulder. Luckily I wasn't in heavy traffic. Got about 5k on the replacement.
I got 7800 on the original rear. The front made it to about 12700 before it started cupping really bad. I am almost due for another rear. I do not do burnouts or really ride hard and I keep the air pressure at the recommended levels. Must be I hit some soft tires or something. My chicken strips still look good. I do lean to the pegs, but I don't like slick centers. I was going to wait until Spring, but with the rain and wet leaves I would rather feel safe than lay it down. If the other brands were harder compounds, I would go with them, but my friends are not getting much over 6000 with any of the other brands. I guess its a Dunlop again. I wonder if they will offer one like the new touring tires with a harder center compound. Only time will tell.
I'm lucky to get 7000 on a rear tire...it's been that way with a sportster 1200, a electraglide standard, and now my street bob.....Im not burning rubber or fast takeoffs...I do downshift and I do weigh 230 but geez....Im about ready to look for retreads!!!! How in the hell do you guys get 10000 out of a rear?
Damn, I must be doing something wrong, or right: I have 15K on my front and rear right now. The front needs changing, but the tread is not yet to the wear bar. The rear is still in good shape. These are the stock Dunlops - got them from Cycle Gear.

It's a Dunlop D402F, 21 inch. I was trying to take some pics, but they turned out like crap. The tire needs to be replaced because it doesn't pass the "penny" check, but I knew that. The thing is the tread is still not to the wear bar yet. I will replace it because they are cheap and I don't like to gamble with tires, especially the front. Just waiting for payday...
