I have always read that is it bad to put raked trees on a dyna, but I found a dealer that installed 5 degree trees on an 06 bob. It looks good, but I figure the trail has got to be around 2 which would make it a bit dangerous at higher speeds. Wouldn't this be a liability for the dealer? You would think they would know better.

I would think just putting raked trees without extending the forks to compensate which would affect the trail would be bad also. I'm sure the more experienced wrenches will add to this.

they lowered the rear and maintained stock height in front to offset some of the trail difficulties... also the accutronix trees have a shorter distance between the center of the stem and the fork tubes also helping with trail... you would have to get very accurate measurements and plug it all in to determine if the trail is acceptable or not.

Don't Wide Glides have raked trees from the factory?

i put stock wide glide triple tree on my 06 streetb0b with a 21 front wheel on it. i cant feel any differents in handling from stock to wide glide, besides the 21 x 2.15 tire wanting to grab the cracks in the road. i think because i put the 21 wheel in front brought me back to normal height of the stock 19 rim and stock trees. besides that i think it is a must do project for the streetb0b. jackyl

I had 7 degree trees on my 2001 sportster for years. I loved the handling til I got to 90 MPH. AT 90 MPH it was UNCONTROLLABLE. Very bad rear wobble.
