Not mine but shows it can be done.

I followed suit after Ken Ridout (the guy whose website shows the front end conversion) and installed an FLST front end on my '05 Super Glide.
I got deployed before I had a chance to put on a wheel and fender. Will be finishing the project presently. I am planning to finish the job with a nacelle (headlight housing).
A couple of photos show the options. The nacelle pictured is a aftermarket (Rick Doss) version of P/N 67907-96B Zanotti H-D (www.zanottimotor.com) $336.00.
You'll need to either replace the fender with a Heritage/DeLuxe style fender (pictured) or a Fat Boy style fender. Or you could use a pre-'06 Wide Glide (or narrow glide with spacers) fender.
Another option to the '04 and earlier FXDP style floorboards is to use FLST floorboards. I could send you details or also check out forum member CStolp (Chris Stolp) ... he manufactured an adapter and did a pretty good post.
The easiest and cheapest option is to go with the floorboards that replace your pegs. They can be gotten from J & P Cycles among other sources.
Can't help with the GSXR front end concept ... Best of luck

I test rode a Dyna Police bike with the floorboards just to try them out ... I was sorely tempted to go that route when I figured out how to adapt Softail boards.
I've attached an old photo of my bike with boards, but before changing out the front end ... you can see what my floorboards look like (I've used the old-style half moon boards).
