It should be fine for you! I'm 5' 9.5" and I wouldn't mind if my forward controls were back an extra inch or two. I HAVE seen some guys riding Electro-Glide Ultras who look like they're riding a mini-bike!! ... lol If your average build you'll be fine. If your huge every bike will look too small for you!

Hey fatboyray...that's my point. Some of the pics that i have seen makes the bob look like a minibike. They're not short and wide riders or 8 feet tall. That was the meaning behind my original quest...is the bike too small? I looked at comparison to fatboys and softtails and the bike just looks like it fits them. Screw it...I want one anyway and damn it...no one is going to get in my way!

6'1" and felt ok too me with forwards. I added 2" forward extensions anyway. Can really strech out now.

Fat Bob is not a small bike. It might be an 1" shorter than a softail, but thats mostly because of fork rake.

Default Change it to suit you

You can do a lot with something as simple as a seat. I am 6' 1" and 225#. I put a Street Bob solo seat on mine and it moved me back just right to fit me with apes and forward controls. Only think I want now is mid pegs also so I have another postition for longer rides. Now it is good for around 400 miles a day comfortably for me.

I will say with shorter legs you might tend to get into the tank with you thighs with the bigger tank on the Fat Bob. I don't have this issue on my Fat Bob, but I do on my Street Glide. If I am not careful I tend to slide up and buff the tank with my jeans.

Get the Fat Bob!!!! It is nothing but a gasoline powered smile machine. You will love it.

I know what you mean sometimes I have seen one being ridden and thought it looked like a small fat thing (bike not the rider!) but from other angles it looks much larger. The bike is over 300kg and i am 6.1 and it feels great, in fact add a sundowner seat and put a pillion on the back and you notice just how much room you both have. Its not a small bike that is for sure.

Same here. I'm 6'1" and 175#...OK, 220# and the bike fits me great. Forward controls are a must, and it's really awesome when your boot heals drag in the corners. You'll love Big Bob!

"If you get forward controls, you'll have plenty of room. You have to reach a little to get to the bars"
When I first sat on mine at the dealer I thought it was a stretch. I almost walked away thinking it was too big for my 5'9" frame. I drove it and thought maybe a few changes would make it work. I took it home and haven't changed anything but add a few accessories. It's perfect!
Go for it!

Hey Steve, How did you move the pegs back?

Thanks
Alfredo
It's easy. I used Kuryakyn 2-inch Male Mount Lockable Offsets. Kuryakyn Part Number 7936 list price $59.99:

http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=harley&ci=3051

You must use the Kuryakyn pegs with these. You simply unscrew the male mount from the peg and replace it with the offset. It's a 10 minute job and they are perfect.

The offsets are adjustable through 360 degrees so you can position the pegs where they feel most comfortable for you. I've moved mine up and back.

The Z shape design means that the pegs are moved outboard very little so they don't move your feet away from the shifter peg or brake pedal.

You can also use the 2" Adjustable Lockable Offset with the female mount (Kuryakyn Part Number4556) if you want to use your original pegs but they move the pegs outboard by three inches which is too far for my taste.

I adjusted the brake rod by lengthening it a small amount at the adjuster near the brake cylinder in order to move the pedal back towards the peg.

Here is a very poor quality photograph that I've just taken from the wrong angle. They look much better in real life than in this picture but it will give you some idea what they look like.

I've also fitted a longer shifter peg and larger brake pedal to make it easier to use and I've fitted Kuruakyn switchblade pegs.

It's transformed the bike for me. It's now the most comfortable I've ever owned and I've had many over the years.

My mate has also fitted them to his Fat Bob and he tells everybody how good they are.

I tried a reach seat before I fitted these but it didn't work. It didn't move me any further forward and it was hard and uncomfortable and gave me **** ache after half an hours riding.
