Default LED gas guage

I ordered new LED gas guage for my 06 Wide Glide. I was just wondering if I will have to cut the wires and mount them in the new cap or is it just something to unplug and plug back in the new one?
Thanks for your help.

You need to run a wire from the gauge up to the speedo. Otherwise it is installing wires in a connector that is provided by the kit. This connector plugs in with the origional one You might need a sewing needle to remove the wire in the speedo from the connector. There is a tab that hold's the wire in the connectors. You need to release this tab to remove th old wire and install your new wire. I don't recall if you had to install the wire ends or if they where allready installed. The direction's where pretty good.

The one I'm getting is the six point aluminum. I'm not sure of the correct name or the part number. I'm at work and my book is at the house. It should be comming in today or tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be happy with it.

There is a tube that the wires run through that goes through the tank. All you have to do is disconnect from the harness pull straight up on analog gauge pulling the wires through the tube. Then you will feed wires of new LED gauge back through the tube and re-connect. Shouldn't take 15 minutes.

Do you have to lift the tank up to do this?

Thanks Dynamite, it came in yesterday and I read the instructions ( I hate having to do that). I really didn't have time to install it because I had to put the new seat, side rails and sissy bar for my wife before we went out to eat. I've spent 700.00 on add-ons and most of it is just to make her comfy. It's amazing what I do for her...
Anyway, I'll do it when I get off work today, it didn't look like there is much to it.
Thanks
