Went down to the local dealer today and right by the front door was a Blue and silver SE Fat Bob. When I first saw pics of it, when Harley announced it I was kinda dissapointed in how it looked. After seeing it in person I have to say it is bad a$$.
The combination of gloss and flat paint looks really good and it has a ton of nice touches on it.
I think the wife might kill me if it showed up at the house though lol
I have been drooling over a yellow one at my dealer the past couple of weekends. Good thing it wasn't available when I bought my '09 FXDF!
Upside:
I love the way my FXDF bars look, but I like the CVO bars and their position better - it's more comfortable for me. Wondering if I can get those risers and bars for my bike.
I like the fact that it comes with a tach, but it does upset the lines of the bike a bit.
Love the tail light, and the black one for my FXDF is on the shopping list. $$$
The wheels are pretty cool, too.
The paint is pretty cool. I don't know if I'd go nuts thinking I had fingerprints in it all the time, though!
Downside:
You are paying a big premium for a HD 110 motor, which is going to get smoked by even a modest 103 build.
The stock pipes still leave something to be desired.
The QC was unacceptable for a $26K bike. The rubber trim around the console had glue oozed up out of it pretty much all the way around.
To my eye, the yellow battery box is a bit much. Needs something to break up all that yellow.
The yellow SE FB is the cats meow. I love mine and can't stop going in the garage to look at it. I hope and am told that the 110 problems have been resolved for 09. The 103 build you refer to may very over power the 110 but I can tell you for certain that the 110 hauls tail and has all the power I need or want. I agree on most of your comments. I have removed the battery box and taken it to a custom painter. He is working on trying to figure how the black quartz was done. If he does then he will put the rear fender graphics on it and the tank console also.
