That's cool, I might try that torch deal. So I'm guessing when I put it back on, I need to use loctite again...

the insane part about this is that the moco chooses to install a bolt that no one can get off and yet many are having problems with the bolts that are really critical to staying tight...like Pulley bolts...where they seem to come loose at the most unfortunate moments..

I've taken mine off several times (to re-paint it - keep knicking it with rocks). Never has it been hard to get off. I did have to go out and get the right size star wrench.

That micro torch looks wonderful! I'll have to get one. Putting heat on bolts is a sure fire way to loosen up the Loctite.

If its anything like mine the rear bolt was an allen head while the front was a torx. I kept trying to remove the front bolt with an allen until I got down there and looked at it. I don't know who was more retarded, me or the Moco.

Bring it to your dealer... they'll take it off for $100 + tax.

That bolt is notoriously, ridiculously torqued. I have seen multiple posts to that effect,. It sheared off my torx bit!

it's not the loctite that makes it difficult to get off. its because the nut on the pulley side of the swingarm is a lock nut. so until you get the bolt threads past the top of the nut it won't unscrew easily. if you look closely at the top of the nut once you get it off, you'll see two metal tabs that are bent down, causing the top of the bolt to be an oblong shape instead of round. this bites down on the bolt and doesn't let it back out as easily.

This thing was just giving me fits outside...I'm trying to put passenger pegs on right now, and thought I was going to break my allen wrench. Guess it's a trip to the store for an impact wrench or that torch.
