Because I am to cheap to pay the price for 06 and up detachable bags, I started looking at the bags up to 05 I measured the mounting points on the fame sides 101/2 inches for both years, so got to look at a parts manual and the only difference between the bags up to 05 and the 06 to 09 is the bracket inside the fender one year has a threaded end the other does not, anyone that has any skills can figure out the required bolt lengths required to mount the less expensive bags.
