Hey guys, is this good?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Traffic-Light-Wizard-Tripper-Changer-Harley-Touring_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c39 Q3a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp328 6Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem280272970335QQitemZ28027297 0335

I have the same issue here in NorCal, honestly, I'm just sick of waiting for cars to arrive behind me so that I can go home...

Run it... your a biker ... time to "stick it to the man"...
If a cop sees you flick him off and speed away...
I tell you... you would think an instruction manual would come with every Harley, guess most don't read the fine print..... LOL

those loops don't pick up weight, just fyi...
They are electromagnetic interrupter loops. Basically, they create an electromagnetic field. Large metal objects interrupt this loop, tripping the light. Bikes are often times not enough metal to trip them, or some sit too high, etc. Getting closer to the line helps some, rolling back and fourth over it does too. The online magnet things work, too. Whoever said you should talk to your city/county important people about getting them adjusted, as, yes, they are adjustable.

The sensor consists of an induction loop. Electric current generates a magnetic field, which collapses generating a current that falls asymptotically toward zero from its initial level when the input electricity ceases. The inductance of the loop changes according to the material inside it and since metals are much more effective inductors than other materials the presence of metal increases the current flowing through the loop. This change can be detected by sensing circuitry, which can signal to some other device whenever metal is detected.

its due to lack of ferrous metal, but the magnet make the field flux enough to trip the circuit.....so if you where on a geezer glide you could just pump up the volume on your stereo and the light would change!!!! wait....maybe not

+1 for Morloka. Spoken like a true electrical engineer.

The intersection next to my house uses an inductive loop trigger. It bugged the crap outta me. I bought a Green Light Trigger over a year ago and mounted at the lowest point on my frame that I could. That little magnet does its job perfectly. Now the light knows I've arrived and I get my fair turn at a green every morning....

I recommend them to anyone that asks. They're cheap, easy and they work (if you can mount it low enough to overcome that pesky "square of the distance" rule).

*edit* attached a pic of the trigger for those that might be curious. It's small, black and blends into the frame. You'd never know it was there if you didn't know where to look. Check out the small square bump just in front of my side stand.
