Rocker covers for fxdbi

Can the rocker covers be removed/replaced with the motor in-situ without recourse to special tools? There doesn't appear to be a great deal of clearance between the heads and the frame spine. Can rocker cover removal be achieved without too much hassle when the tank is removed? Are gaskets easily available/necessary/effective once the factory "seal" is breached?
Any help or comments, as always, appreciated.

Y'know, the reason why I bought this motorcycle in the first place is that it was practically "there" - you know, if I sat down and wrote a list of what I really wanted in a HD and how it would all sit together, I would have described a StreetBob, more or less, as it has rolled off the assembly line. Which is the reason I bought one the first time I saw one in the metal (those cunning sods at HD had clearly known _exactly_ what buttons _I_ (and a lot of folk here
) needed pressing to get me to sign). So why is it I need to tweak and mess with a motorcycle which is jaw droppingly handsome straight outta the crate? That pages in that P&A book are laced with some sort of crack, I'll wager...
