Default Deutsch connectors - FXDWG

YES I have a service manual....

Last weekend I did the mini-ape to 16's handlebar swap. I carefully made a diagram of each of the deutsch connectors and proceeded to disassemble them to pull the wires through the trees, bars.

Apparently when I reassembled them, I forked up a bit. My left front signal will not power on (running light) or blink. The right side powers on (running light) but will not blink.

I probably transposed a wire or two.

Can someone assist me in determining where pin #1 is located so that I can verify against the layout as described in the service manual? I have found nothing in there pinpointing it directly but they make multiple mention of pin #1 in the wiring diagrams.

A photo of each side would be best, if possible.

Use the color codes to match the wires on either side of the connector.

But I need to know where pin 1 is so I can match them from the schematic to the connector.

do the rear signals work? if you are only having problems with the front then it is in the front signal wiring not the switch wiring.

Yes, the rear signals work fine. I know it's not a switch problem.

I disassembled the deutsch connectors last weekend to do a handlebar swap. I made a diagram and reassembled based on that. I just didn't have the time nor the service manual to work on it during the week. I got the sm and went through it. To verify if I have the connectors mis-wired, I need to know where pin 1 is on the connector. Nothing in the manual points that out.

I admit, my diagram may not have been as good as it should have. I was rushing a bit because I have a 2 month old and was trying to not stick the duties with my girlfriend for too long.

confused... you are disassembling the connectors to the front turn signals, right?
the way you asked I thought you were disassembling the switch wiring.

I swapped out my handlebars last weekend, and even though I took pictures of the connectors before I pulled them apart,I found it was just as easy to match the wires to the female connectors.

I still have the pictures if you need to see them.

Just let me know exactly which connector you are talking about, and I'll email it to you.

I appreciate all the pics and to Rhino...the idea of matching the side of the connector I didn't touch came to me a few hours ago. Forgive the slowness but I have a 2month old baby girl and work 12 hr shifts at night. Tends to make your brain work a little slower.

Oddly enough today on my ride into work, my right front signal which would not power on or blink is now blinking as it should but still no running light.

No sir. I disassembled the deutsch connectors at the end of the harness for the handlebar controls so I could do a handlebar swap which happened last weekend.

I'm no electrician but even I couldn't screw up the three wire TS connectors.
