Well call me a lazy bastard. I was not happy with the stock handlbars on my FXDI, and although there were many options, the damn speedo was the biggest problem to solve. I wanted more pullback, yet in the end I didn't want to splice or relocate the speedo. I wanted the easy way out....and I found it! I put on a handlbar from a Heritage Softail Classic and behold.....way more pullback. I have included a side shot so you can see how far they come back. You can also lower the handlbars fro another inch or two of pullback. No need to cut or splice wires....there is about 3" of extra wiring hidden inside the frame, all ya gotta do is oull it out. I went with braided lines for the brakes and clutch. Street Bob lengths work just fine, thank you. One more thing to note.......take a gander at the sissy bar insert. It's original from my old 1981 FXE. I saved it all these years, and now it rides again!
Nice job on that, Blueglide. The insert on the bar is a neat touch - nice to see the spirit of your FXE rides on! Pondering my options on new bars as well, and it's nice to get insight to what you've done here.
Looks like all that sweet Dyna needs is a dot on the horizon to chase after, man! I like it a ton.
Make sure you let us all know when that bad boy clocks 175,000, as well.
