For the benefit of us new riders, could you describe what clothing and gear you were wearing and what, if anything, would you have been wearing differently that might have reduced your injuries ?
By the way I used to live 25 minutes from Danbury,CT and knew of the Marcus Dairy thing, even as a non-biker.
I will be fine, I was extremely lucky. The girl is 16 and had her license for a few months, her friend behind her in another car was 18. You guys should have heard the screaming, I must have looked like something "Jason" got to, lol
Well, we can hope that her image of you lasts for the rest of her life, and that her experience affects all those around her, to warn her friends of what can happen when you don't friggin think.
I know when I'm ridin' in a group and going by cars waiting to pull out, at intersections or what not, I'll hold up my hand with the number of riders behind me, if there are any. Don't know if they see it, but I sure as hell try to make eye contact and know they saw my hand. If nothing else, it might stop them to think "what the heck was that?" for a couple of seconds.
Don't know if that helps anybody else, but I'm up for anything that gives me another tool to use. Because this isn't paranoia, "they" are out to get you.

Yeah, about that. My dumbass was only wearing a pair of jeans, a t-shirt under a black hoodie and sneakers. Like I said, I am VERY lucky.
Sorry to hear the bad news, I think about this alot, but I just hope it never happens..But your alive, so the bike can be replaced or fixed so that is the most important part. Speedy recovey.
A little story while I am at it. I pulled up to a light in my truck a couple of months back and there was a little hot chicky next to me in a little car and I looked over to check her out, now yes she was hot, but the scary part was she was sitting Indian style in the drivers seat, on the cell phone texting..I am telling you guys you have to watch your azz out there, these young kids have more on thier mind than watching for bikes and they are all doing it, even adults..Seeing stuff like this just scares the hell out of me..I really think that the states DMV should, if they already don't, start instructing these young drivers of the ever growing motor cycle presence on the road. I know in New Jersey right now they are posting signs and banners on the roads and in certain places on to be alert to motorcyclist.
It has been many years since I was cut off by a 16 year old girl but I know how you feel...Seriously though I am glad you are still with us. I loved your bike but it can be rebuilt or replaced. Get well and rebuild if possible.
