1st, Mods, please don't move this thread. I realize it's not about a Dyna, but this is the room where I visit most.
As some of you know, my son passed his rider's safety course and has been riding the sh*t out of his Sporty. Well, his bike had stock exhaust on her and he's made comments about how when we ride he can only hear my bike. He also just told me a couple of days ago that the only mods he wants to do right now are his bars and his pipes.
What he doesn't know is that I ordered a set of Cycle Shack Tapered Slip Ons for him. The Big Brown Truck delivered them today and I installed them. DAMN do they sound awesome!!! I could not believe how good they sounded.
He hasn't been home from school yet (out visiting one of his girl friends), so when he does get home tonight, I'm going to tell him that I had to move his bike and that there was some weird noise coming from the engine. I then going to ask him if something happened to his bike yesterday. I'm going to have him start it and tell me if that was how it sounded when he parked it. I can't wait to see his face.
I'm sorry if I sound like I'm braggin on my son, but I haven't seen him for a few months and I've been sooo looking forward to this vacation so we could ride together.
I'm like a little kid here waiting for him to come home...LOL!!!
ha ha ha that is awesome! I brought my first bike home... well i PUSHED my first bike home about a mile when i got it out of a barn... my dad was so pumped for me while i was at work he rebuilt the carbs, tuned it in, cleaned the tank... then called me at work to REV that motor after it had not run for 10 years... dont know who was happier, ME OR HIM!!!
Cool move JAKE... very cool!
Thats really cool! And good choice in pipes! I have the same ones on my dyna and I love the sound.
When my dad had his engine built, the builder asked him which exhaust he wanted. Cycle shack or rienhart. My dad said cycle shack, the builder replied "good choice, they make more power".
Very cool!!! I also have been blessed to be able to ride with my dad. I still remember him teaching me how to ride a dirt bike when I was 7 years old. We both make plans whenever I'm home to get some ridin time in. Certainly one of the best things in life for him and I.
Jake... get him some never dull and show him what it can do on those wheels! polish that up so it BLINGS!.. hell you can even black out the gray areas and polish up the lip of those rims, polish the rotor, polish the down tubes... just show him how.. i bet he goes to town.. easy to do just takes a hell of alot of time. basicly all he would need is a drill, hook loop attachment and a ton of sand paper and water... 400,800,1200,2000... then some never dull/good metal polish to buff them out... would look awesome! and give him a bit of bling to keep up with his old man!
I ran cycle shack slip ons on my deluxe for two seasons they looked good and sounded great. if you take a look at the data on the pips thy are very good performance wise . your son will like them
Well, he came home and got real concerned when I told him his bike was sounding odd.
He went out and started it, and when he heard the pipes he had a dumbfounded look on his face. He said it sounded louder, but he was still listening for the "problem". All of a sudden it dawned on him that I was kidding about the problem and a huge smile came over his face.
