Took a ride Saturday checking out the gorgeous fall colors in Colorado and ran into a problem. Coming back started getting a high pitched whine towards the front cylinder, believe I may have a lifter bleeding off. Managed to limp home, it did get a little worse. Looking for some advice, I have a 2003 Wide Glide stock, carbed, it is the only bike for me. Love it. 55,000 hard miles on it, I do ride it hard, not ridiculous but hard. Seriously thinking about just putting in a new motor. I think it would eliminate a lot of future problems. What kind of miles are you getting and is your engine still strong. I'm not wild about rebuilds, because I don't know anybody (especially Harley) who I would trust to do it.
