Default Brake Fluid Issue

Bought an 03 FXDL about a month ago. Front brake M/C site glass was fogged/frosted so i could not rely on it for fluid level. Bought a new cover. When installing I saw that the brake fluid was at the proper level but was amber in color. manual says the fluid is DOT 5 which I know from experience is purple, (put buckhorns on my xlh and had to changes line, fill and bleed) Apparantly someone put in the wrong fluid at some point. Thinking I should, drain, flush, refill with DOT 5 and bleed. If I am correct, what should I use to flush the system?

Believe it or not, Dot 5 will turn an amber color when old, go to a motorcycle shop that sells Dot 5 cheaper than HD. Flush with the new fluid until purple is bled out of the caliper bleeder. Might as well do your rear brakes while you are at it but beware the two screws for the cover on the rear m/c are a bugger to get off.

Didn't know that. Got plenty of the purple on hand already. Thanks BTW noticed the "tailhook plumber" thing. Anything to do with the gear?
