Default Belt Guard Poll

OK - the bike (08 SB) is down for the winter. I plan on blacking out a few things among some other projects. I already ditched the lower belt guard but am conflicted about the upper one (its chrome on the 2008s). Help me decide....should I leave it alone, replace it with a black one or sh*tcan it altogther?

If you really want it blacked out, replace it.

The bike will look cooler without one if you run as a bar hopper and never take a passenger.
If you run without, and take a passenger, think of how colorful your belt will be with toenail polish on it. And now unhappy that pretty little girl will be.

I run without. Do not worry about a passenger getting close to the belt. There is plenty of distance between the pegs and belt. I was initially concerned till I tested it out.

I vote for replacement.

Something I'm thinking of doing also.

Replace it with a black one, it should blend in better. If you can find someone to swap with all the better. Get a little creative by drilling holes or cutting slots in it for a different look.

Ditto...if you plan to black out a few items over winter, the black guard should blend in better.

I know its not a choice but if you are going for the minimalist look I suggest drilling it out with a hole saw and powdercoating.
