[QUOTE=SC-Longhair;4048133] The one other major part I need is only $35.00 (taillight/license plate bracket) and am trying to order enough to get free shipping. Since JP does business in SC (MB bike week), they have to charge sales tax which sucks. QUOTE]
Well the nice thing about J&P Cycle is that even when you hit the free shipping they still tack on a "Handling Fee." I will never buy from them again!
There's no problem with mixing tread types or tire brands. Just don't mix radial and bias ply.
Close but I would add no problems mixing radials and bias either since I am now and have for many miles and a few tire changes. Oh and HD has no problem doing it either since they have mixed them on OE bikes too.
American Moto Tire is cheap and tops. Just my plug for them as my tires arrived yesterday. A freind who works at a local shop was unable to beat their prices for what he gets tires for.
Just replaced my front tire due to weather cracking, not tire wear. My 2001 DWG only has 7500 miles on it but why take a chance? The risk isn't worth it. My rear tire still has good tread and no weather cracking so I'll replace it when the time comes.

Thanks for the plug. They do charge shipping but very reasonable shipping charges. I just ordered a tire, 2 tire irons and rim protectors from them.
replaced the stock rear at 7,500 and went to a Radial Dunlop D205 the same size as stock and it performed awesome. At 13,500 the D205 and my stock front were worn out, i went with another D205 on the back since i love the handling and it was only a $120 installed, and since they dont have a D205 in the front size and put on a GT501 which looks sick and closer tread design. I now have 17,500 and the rear is good for another 1,000-2,000 and the front is good for another 1,000. I'd like to put on the metzelers next to give them a chance but they our way too much money, $250 for the rear is double than the dunlop.
I contacted AMT from the link that murphdog left and found that a 150/80 wont fit (mine is stock with a 130/90-16) but a MU85-16 which is the cross reference to 140/90-16 will fit and is about 3/8" wider than the stock one. So I'm going to go with that and the 90/90 that murph did. Both Metzelers;
No that doesn't cover shipping but this is a great price, I think you can get close to $250 with shipping. I don't know where you got over $250 for the rear buuuut its not that much here.

My indy gave me the news about not able to come close to their price. But, if I order from the indy, he'll take care of any problems. I'm scared of ordering tires from American Moto and they were manufactured in 06' or worse...
