Been a while since I was on here. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still around. And I have just gotten my second bike. I still have Lucy (my springer street bob), but now I have a 2002 Electra Glide Classic also. While it's not really my style of bike, it belonged to a close friend that died this summer of a heart attack. And it will be nice to have a tour bike for the long trips with the old lady. Although she liked long trips on Lucy just fine.
The new ride is named Lizzy. It will also be known as "the Chuck Wagon" in memory of her former owner. I'll post pics eventually, but it's basically stock except having the 95" motor.
Sorry to hear about that Gorilla. It doesn't bother you to have his bike? I only ask because I'd think it would make it that much harder to deal with the loss. I can definitely understand both sides of the coin on this though. I know a woman who restored the bike her son was killed on like 15 yrs ago. She even rides it once in a while. Just seems a little tough to comprehend.
In what Longhair said and that he understands both sides of the coin. IMO Yea it would be hard for me aswell, but then again he will ALWAYS be riding with you everytime you take that bike out and I'm sure that is what you and him would want...Ride Safe, You know he is always going to be there watching over you while ur riding...Sry for the loss...Take Care
Lost a good friend in 2004. I didn't have a scooter then but he was to have gone with me when I bought my HD. Well, I have both an xlh and an fxdl and he has been with me when I bought each of them and I think he is there when I ride. Someday I may ask his widow what happened to his bike and perhaps buy it if possible. I would be honored to ride it and I know he would be smiling Think good thoughts of your friend, he really is with you
Have the same feelings as others on riding his bike though. At the same time I would much rather have it in my possession then someone else. But if I was ever asked about it it would still be his. Sorry for your loss gorilla
