Battery & Security
If anything, it may throw a trouble code which you can clear. The "proper" way to remove the power source is to turn on the ignition to disarm the system, then turn off and withing 5 seconds remove the maxi-fuse. I just got off HD-net to look up another alarm question and I ain't going back! but doesn't the siren also have a back-up battery that should be removed to prevent from draining? Could've put it in storage mode unless battery freezing was an issue.

I dont have the siren so no battery there. I just yanked the battery out - I think the security system was set when I did.....am I gonna have problems?.....crap; I miss the old days when carburators ruled the earth, life was simpler and the only security system to worry about was a big f*ckn padlock and a chain......

HD recommended procedure "to remove the power source, turn on the ignition to disarm the system, then turn off and within 5 seconds remove the maxi-fuse... due to touching cable to terminal while hooking up up which may cause a low battery trouble code". Found out about the clock when as a prank, pulled friends maxi fuse when we were setting him up on dyno. Geez, my two doesn't even HAVE a maxi-fuse... lol

I replaced my battery recently and it was unplugged for an hour or so. I haven't noticed any problems after plugging it back in and I didn't reload my Power Commander map. I would have known if the map needed reloaded as it pops louder than Oprah smacking her lips at KFC when it's at the stock setting.
Man that's damn funny, I don't care who you are. Thanks for the laugh.
