What happens to the security system and other electrical related items on the bike when the battery is removed for about 30 minutes.
I did a search here and someone a similar question but he had removed the battery for the entire winter, so I'm not sure removing it for 30 minutes would have the same affect or not.
I'm thinking that, hopefully the security system would be able to remember everything for that short period of time. If not how would I know? The bike started up fine once I had it all back together.
I've had no problems with the "security" system. but, I've had to reload the map on my Powercommander everytime I unplugged the battery. just a thought...
I replaced my battery recently and it was unplugged for an hour or so. I haven't noticed any problems after plugging it back in and I didn't reload my Power Commander map. I would have known if the map needed reloaded as it pops louder than Oprah smacking her lips at KFC when it's at the stock setting.
just read this and realized it never occurred to me what would happen when I pulled the battery for the winter.....I took it out a couple of weeks ago; whats gonna happen to the security system etc.? am I gonna have to do something to get it working again in the spring?
I disconnected mine for about 2 weeks last summer while replacing a rear tire and handlebars (waiting on parts). Reset the clock and go! No problems at all.
Why not leave the battery in for the winter? Assuming your garage is heated. I mean it might get ripped off easier with no battery? Just some thoughts.
