Default Oil Sending Unit

Okay, so i bought this oil gauge from Jerzee Customs (Very Nice unit) and tonight I am putting it on the bike, an 02 Lowrider TC 88 moter. Once I get to the sending unit I can't seen to get the damn thing off the moter. It doesn't really have a bolt type shape to get a wrench on so I was wondering how to get it out? I was thinking a deep well socket would fit but not sure if that is the best method. For you all that have removed it, how did you do it??

It requires a special socket, as do all oil sending units that I have worked on.

Default "Special socket"

If you know the size (I don't) you can pick it up at any Sears or any other place that sells ratchets and sockets. The parts catalog and the shop manual just list the part number for the sending unit not the size. If you have a micrometer you can measure it. If not the put an adjustable wrench around it and then measure the opening in the wrench with a ruler to within 1/16 to 1/32 inch. It looks like it will be a 12 point deep well socket. I can't guarantee that however.
