Anyone know of a tool which will properly crimp the Deutsch type connectors without having to spend a bunch of money?
I want to get a set of hand control switches with wiring. Looks like most include the connectors, but I don't want to spend more on the tool to crimp them than the switches cost.
Thanks,
John

i don't know specifically what tool is required - however I am in the electronics industry and I can tell you from experience that specialty crimp tools tend to be very expensive.
$200 and up.

Reason: typo
I crimped my connections very carefully with needle nose pliers and then put a small amount of solder on each connection. I have never had a problem (i.e. loose connection). That being said, Mud's ideal is great. I am going to give it a try with an old set of wire cutters.

John,
You can get a crimp tool that will work from Bantam Electronics. Look them up online; you can buy you a tool for about $20 and you can swap the jaws out for different typs of crimps around $12.
I went to their website, but didn't have a clue how to navigate it to find such a tool. I did register in order to use their online catalog. I was impressed as hell when they called to see if I found what I was looking for. Of course, I missed the call and got a voice mail.

Thanks for the link, but still too pricey for what little I expect to use the tool.
