Ive been wrestling with the idea of slamming the *** on this thing and ditchin' the 12" shocks etc. but I want the ride to stay the same. Was never in love with the WG bobtail fender I put on it this summer so I cut up the original fender but when I mounted it I had a 5" gap between the tire and fender (looked goofy) So I bent the Barebones down about 1 and 1/2 inches in the back (not that obvious) to meet with the fender. Gap is now 3" at rest but shock will bottom out at 2 5/8" travel leaving me 3/8" So good enough for me. Lost the tank lift and think this is the final design/look. Just need paint/finish work etc. But pretty happy with it. Whatcha think? Oh yeah ordered a 18" x 5.5" with a 200 Metz from BlackBike.

Looks AWESOME!!! Definitely like the cut fender better than the bob fender. What shocks are those? Is BlackBike a member here? I was thinking of doing a 180x18 along with 21" on the front this winter.
I think it looks great.I can't really see where you bent the LePera.I don't think it "needs" the 18" wheel but that will give you more flexibility with tires.
Looks great!! What size wheel are you running in front, and what bars are you using? I've actually been thinking of ditching the apes instead of going bigger........
Mudd- Arnott has a set of air shocks with an on board compressor that will range from 10 1/2" to 13" in length. Also has the up and down (inflate/deflate) switches on the handlebars. Just thought you might want to look into it. BTW, the bike looks killer.
Speedjunkie.....BlackBike wheels is a wheel company in CA
Bosken.....installed the rear blinker run/tail/stop module. So Nightster style tails and an axle mounted side mount.
Ed.....just running an 18" so I can get a 200 rear. Trying to take care of everything i'd want in another bike and incorporating it into the Dyna e.g. Ive always thought the 200 in the rear of the Nightrain was cool as hell. Once I mount a 200 on my Dyna, the idea of a Nightrain is nothing more than a fond memory.
Bishop.....the front is a 21x3.5 with a 120/70 front tire and the bars are Carlini Lowdowns.
Are your current shocks longer than stock? It may just be the design, but they look kinda tall. Something the stock height of a FXDL or Bob would drop you down closer to the tire and still leave some travel. I'm considering the Progressive 430s when I switch.
