I have everything detachable, two up seat, sissy bar, shield, bags. I usually leave the bags on, kinda like the look (on my ride at least). The other stuff goes on when needed, otherwise .........
I bought my Fat Bob For solo riding. No backrest or saddlebags for me - don't like the look. Did give in to a windshield after a couple of long rides though. Now that the weather has cooled down the windshield has been staying on. It really doesn't look that bad and makes the ride more pleasant.
Yea, I might have to eat my words on my previuos post about keepin' it simple...it's 50 degrees and a bit breezy today. I might think about getting a detachable windshield. lol
in agreement with the K.I.S.S. theory.
my bike is a stripper big time, but yes, i do have a deatchable sissybar, huge T-bag, and a big Sundowner seat for when the girlfriend is riding.
when i tour alone i still keep my tiny a$$ barebones seat but i do throw the sissybar on with the T-bag. you can carry a lot with no saddlebags!!! tent, sleeping bag, seat, clothes for 2 weeks, and the most important... cooler!
as for a windshield, the big 70's style bubble face shield on the 3/4 Biltwel does just fine.
ha haha when i tour i set the bike up to work for that... full stereo, GPS, bags, diff seat.. shield you name it! just 75% of the time i dont need all that or only want the tunes and the shield
