Leaking clutch cable
I posted awhile back about transmission fluid leaking out of my clutch cable right at the clutch cable adjuster. I had previously found the transmission vent tube with the end plugged from a dirt dobber. I crushed all the dirt out of the tube. Well, when I serviced the bike again it started doing it again. It was suggested when I posted before that I remove the vent tube and make sure it wasn't blocked. I looked in the end of it and could see no sign of blockage. I got sick of the small puddle of fluid on the floor after I would ride, so tonight I removed the stinking vent tube from the transmission. I looked in the end and saw nothing....I tried to blow through the tube and lo and behold, nothing! I got a metal rod and ran it through the tube and it was plugged down in the tube after it makes the curve. I got all the dirt out, cleaned it up and reinstalled it. I can't ride right now but will in the next few days and I am confident that the problem is solved.
So, for anyone who lives down south and has problems with dirt dobbers, I would suggest checking that vent tube every so often. I am going to add it as an item to check at each of my service intervals. I really didn't expect it to be stopped up, but I was certainly wrong.
