I have an 09 fxdc ordered and I would like to replace the black headlight bucket with a chrome one( like the one on the fxdl). I am not looking to go aftermarket, just a chrome version of what's on the bike. What other harley model and year headlights will work for this? Also, is the installation plug and play? Any one that wants to sell a chrome fxdl headlight, let me know. Thanks, J
It's plug and play if you get the right light and want to mess with getting to where they plug in. Or you can get a different light and a set of connectors and make most any light plug and play.
If you get a lowrider light, be sure to get one off of a newer, bottom mounted light bike. The older LR's had top mount headlights.
There are only 2 wires that run the light, plus a ground. Very easy to splice and hide. Many of the aftermarket lights ground to the forks/mount so only 2 wires - lowbeam and highbeam to work with. Aftermarket not a bad way to go.

I'm pretty sure you can almost use any other light from another model, as well as using different mounts for the right height and forward or rearward position. I used a 2006 Deuce head light with a chrome mount from a 2006 Sportster Custom, a simple bolt in.
