Jeff - powder coat is the way to go. You have all the gloss levels available, it's much more durable and surprisingly cheap to do especially considering the benefits. Do it once, do it right.
Sweet, So you can powder coat over plastic? I didn't know that, that what I'll do then. I also want to powder coat my headlight, maybe some other things as well.
Do you power coat? Is that your business? Were are you located?
I'll send them to you.

Unless HD just started making their turn sigs out of plastic they should be cast aluminum. If they are plastic they can't be powder coated. Any of the metal parts on your bike can be powder coated except the exhaust pipes. Your heat shields can be done but anywhere on the pipes that "blue" from excessive heat will burn the powder. I see you're getting new pipes anyway and they will be ceramic coated.
Yes, powder coating is my business and you can find my contact info by clicking my screen name. I'm on the HDF as a biker and to give suggestions and advise on powder coating, not as a spammer. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have on the process.
I check out you web site, looks very pro. I 'll be sending you some items very soon. Maybe my turn sigs are aluminum, I just asumed they were plastic. I'll send those to you as well.
I'm going to be in Fayettville Dec.12th, staying there on my way to florida.
If I get there early enough I'll stop in and say Hi.
I'll give you a call, will you be around tomorrow?
Not many officers will stop somebody for this, but if they're interested and looking for a reason its all they'd need. $124 here.

I have been biting my tongue since I read this but I can't stand it anymore and I have to say something. If some worthless cop with nothing better to do than worry about a smoked turn signal lens has that kind of time on his hands, do us all a favor and go looking for some REAL criminals for **** sake.
