Well, I have about 300 miles on my Low Rider and I seem to be getting more vibration in the front footpegs. It really vibrates when the bike is cold and goes away under power but when I decelerate or am going slow I get more than usual vibration. Anybody else get this? Is there a problem?[sm=feedback.gif]
I have 500 miles on my 06 Low Rider now. No excessive vibration in highway pegs. I do seem to notice that at 2000 rpm
the bike seems to be kinda resonant. My first Harley and I'm kinda diggin' all the vibes.
Yeah, me too. Mine vibrates under 2000. But I'm getting foot vibration until the bike gets really hot. But all the seasoned bikers are telling me to do nothing and tell the tech to check it at the 1000 mi. service. Some said wait until 5000 miles. So, I'm waiting & riding all Summer.
Yep, I get it all the time below 2000 rpm. Your gonna get some vibs at lower rpm's, but above, say 2400/2500 rpm every thing seems to smooth out. These big twins really like rpm's above 2000. I've found the "sweet spot" is about 2500/2800 rpm. Just don't lug the engine at 2000 rpm in higher gears, ya gotta' downshift every now and then.
i agree with the sweet spot at 25 to 2800 rpm but i would check the top motor mounts where they bolt to the heads they get loose and need to be checked sey every 500 miles or so
Guys, guys.......these are not diesels, you need to keep the revs above 2k. Lower than 2000 RPM is really lugging the motor. It's just that being Harleys and having all of that low end torque that we love we tend to forget that these are small gas engines.
I'm not going to say that you are doing damage but it's obvious that they are designed to run over 2k RPM, you can FEEL it!
Sounds like there's a lot of new bikes on this page, congrates and enjoy!
i agree with the sweet spot at 25 to 2800 rpm but i would check the top motor mounts where they bolt to the heads they get loose and need to be checked sey every 500 miles or so
Just did.......took about a 1/4 turn to snug em up. Thanks!!
