Im looking toward Apes, but have never ridin a bike with them.
How do they feel for the long rides? Comfortable?? I love the look, but dont want to be complaining after a couple hours in the saddle.
FYI 02 Super Glide
I find the standard mini-apes on the Wide Glide VERY comfortable. If you're thinking of going any higher than that, be aware that if your hands are higher than your shoulders, then you could suffer numbness and discomfort on a long run.
I have Chubby 16" apes on my Wide Glide and I wouldn't have it any other way except maybe 2" higher. I love apes. Hands tend to go numb a little in the first 50 or 60 miles of a long ride but I shake em' out and they're fine.

Just 'cause I'm an ol' fart I can say this: After you've ridden 20 years or so with too-high apes, there ain't no shakin' out the numbness. It's permanent.
I like the apes on the wide glides, work well for me.
However, if your knuckles are higher than your shoulders you may very well get a ticket for too high handlebars in Sturgis!
My friend got a ticket for that two years ago in Sturgis. They warn you of that on their webpage, but he didn't believe it would happen, but he rides a heritage classic, and he got the ticket!
So be careful in some places.
