I would suggest disconnecting the fuel line at the quick-disconnect before moving the tank.
I learned the hard way that if you lift the tank too high during installation, the other end of the fuel line is plastic and solid mounted...it can crack.
My crossover line was rubbing on the frame so I used a piece of hose, split down the middle as protection.

Starting to get my brain wrapped around this mod as a winter project. I was wondering, does the mod raise just the front end of the tank (steeper tank angle), or 2" at the front AND rear? If the former, does it throw off the accuracy of the fuel gauge (as if there's any to begin with!) or affect "usable" fuel quantity? If the latter, are there any interference problems with the front of the seat? Thanks.

Gonna be a long winter if this is your project. You can do this mod in about a half hour with simple tools. It's just a bracket that raises the front of your tank. It doesn't affect how many miles you can get out of a tank, which is what you should be going by anyway, but it may change how your gauge reads. For me, it made mine way more accurate as it was way off from day 1 to begin with.
