I have the Progressive's and personally I love them but if money were not an issue I would have gone with the adjustable air shocks.

I like the low look, but not as much as I like the lean angle in the corners.I went with the 412's, I know they make better shocks but for the $$$ and the roads where I live I'm OK with what I have. Fork springs should be in the 8TH.

I bought progressive 440's, they made an amazing difference. Afterwards I was having a problem with "porpoising" so I installed progressive front springs and the problem was solved.

I just installed the Arnott air ride system on my 09 Ultra this AM. Cost was about $800 with tax. I can now ride slammed or raise it anywhere between slammed and stock height. I can adjust the softness and stiffness with a touch of a button. I did not want to be stuck with one height. When I park I can use the center stand I bought or the side stand. Looks cool setting on the jiffy stand lowered. Just my .02.

I have 12" 440's and love 'em. Very comfortable. My wife also noticed the smoother ride.

Default Air Shocks

Hey Jeff Koch- Do you know the total range of your air shocks ? Like they are 11" at the shortest and at 13" the longest dimension. What is the range ?

what is your budget? if you plan to spend around $450-500 you can do much better than progressive! Works performance will build a shock custom tuned to you!( It's crazy to buy an off the shelf progressive or H-D for that money) if you are spending less, the progressive 412 from www.easternperformance.com is $198 shipped. 12" is the length of the H-D lowering shocks.

The range on my shocks is 10.5 inch to 13 inch. I bought the 13 inch shock so that I could go back to stock height and when lowered it will not go down far enought to rub under the fender. If I had a failure of the system I could ride home. Some guys bought shocks that go too low and have rubbed their brake wiring harness off. You can also buy shock kits that go lower (12,10 inch and lower) from Arnott.
My goal was to buy a shorter center stand and drop the bike on it using the air system. That is what I have done and am really pleased with ride and performance.
